yes lipgloss I have watched Intervention and I think it is a very interesting thing to see all the types of addiction their are and how they can destroy lives.

The one problem I have with the program, and I don't watch every episode so I don't know for sure, it seems like they never have food addicts on the show. And I wonder why.

I will never forget this one lady on the show that looked like the perfect size 2, that all the guys claim they think is attractive because she "takes care of herself" (ya right, all they care about is the image).

But the truth was that she was eating enough for a family of 4 and throwing it all up! Her mother showed the camera people that her daughter had eaten a sheet cake meant for about 30 people, by herself. IRONICALLY the woman was stripping to support her food habit, so yes she definately had the body image the guys like but if she kept down her food she could have easily been 500 pounds!

Do the producers think people won't be sympathetic to over eaters? I think that is the hardest addiction of all to break. you don't HAVE to smoke, you don't HAVE to do drugs, you don't HAVE to throw up after you eat. But everyone has to eat, so it is a hard addiction to get a hold of in my opinion. You can't totally leave it behind, you have to eat something.

I would recomend watching this show that is on TLC where they visit the Brookhaven obeisity clinic in NYC. You can see the struggles of people with food addictions.
Diet pills can be an addiction! (0 replies)

I've noticed several posts on this page referring to diet pills. Regardless of what types of possible false advertisements might be out there, there is something more serious at hand. Diet pills can be highly addictive! I know someone who became severely addicted to the speed-like qualities of diet pills and it took a bit of an inervention to help her out.
If anyone else knows of someone with any type of addiction problems, you should check out the season premier of A&E's show 'Intervention' tonight (December 3).
It airs at at 9pm/8 central.
Have any of you seen it?
Check out the trailer here: http://www.aetv.com/intervention
This show is really important to me because I actually have a few friends who have dealt with drug addictions over the years and this show outlines the addiction process for those of us that don't understand. I think it's really important for those of us not battling with addiction to understand what our loved ones are going through so that we can better help them to get well. What do you think?
Do you have any friends or loved ones dealing with addiction? Even if you don't, this show could prove to be helpful in the future or just educate you more about this really difficult subject.
Are you gonna check it out?

I just heard some info on the popular diet drug Xenadrine the other day on ABC news, so I thought I'd pass it along. I know we have all been told that the before and after photos in commercials aren't always reliable, but get this....

Xenadrine payed a body builder to pig out on junk food to get fat for a "before" photo for their advertisement. Once that photo was taken the body builder who was of course very familliar with dieting and working out loss the weight on his own (without Xenadrine) for the "after" photo for the commercial.

I saw another post about this but I'm dying to know if anyone has tried Trim Spa. I want to buy it. I'm on a bunch of meds that are making me gain weight. Watching what I eat doesn't seem to be working. I need another method of weight loss.

I was just told the other day that acupuncture has been found to help curb appetite? Is this another "you'll believe anything" scams or is there any truth to it? Not sure how it works at all.

I haven't really tried weight loss supplements in the past but I am going to try Trim Spa while my husband is away for a month. Just like any other woman, I want to be thin.
