Disadvantages of the Negative Calorie Diet for weight loss
Some people may not like the Negative Calorie diet as there is a long list of foods that are either forbidden or severely restricted. Because the Negative Calorie diet severely limits meats and dairy products, it may be hard for a person to consume adequate amounts of calcium and protein while on the diet. The amount of calories a person will burn digesting foods is highly dependent on the speed of their metabolism; it is hard to say which foods contain ‘negative' calories as it may vary for each individual. There is no scientific proof confirming the effectiveness of the Negative Calorie diet so it is unknown whether or not a person will lose weight while following it.
